I've been very pleased with the Jeffco fuel tank sealer. You do have to
be careful when mixing it up, however, because it kicks fast. The
technique I worked out was to get some disposable aluminum pie plates. Put
the mixed Jeffco sealer in one, then set it in a second one that has 2 or 3
of those little re-freezeable cold packs placed in it. This will keep the
mixed sealer cold and prolong it's pot life significantly. It goes on a
little like tar, but as soon as it spreads on the e-glass, it warms up and
can be brushed out. The Jeffco sealer also makes a nice coating for the
inside of the cowling -- protects from oil and fuel drips and makes it very
easy to keep clean.
