The Bob Archer SA004 Nav antenna is horizontally polarized and works fine in
the winglets when properly installed. The base of the antenna must be
situated to contact the carbon portion of the wing to obtain your ground
plane. The antenna should be fastened to either the inside top or bottom of
the winglet/tip, with the grounding strip of the antenna sandwiched between
the wing tip and the carbon fiber wing (conductive) which provides your
ground. If ANY Lancair Builder out there has any installation questions, we
are always here to help. Email or pick up the phone and we'll do our best
to provide the assistance you need.
Additional antenna installation instructions are outlined in the manual as
well as a separate set of "general" installation instructions which
accompany the antenna itself. If you need a copy, I would be happy to fax
them to you.
