We are doing the vertical stabliser, and during a talk with Bob Archer
about antennas I asked about the VOR antenna (SA004) when installed in a
winglet.  His straight forward answer was that they don't work unless
you're on top of the station.

Do any of flying readers have any experience with the above
configuration?  If they don't work. what have you done?
