I have a kit purchased in 1989 and there are no instructions
regarding the installation of the exhaust system.  I've recently installed
my factory exhaust system for the LNC2.  In its current configuration, the
exhaust stacks exit the cowl very close to the bottom of the fuselage (
within 5/8"  ).  In addition, the left stack interferes with the bottom of
the cowl.  What kind of gap clearance is typical/required between the
exhaust tube and the fuselage?  Is some type of thermal protection
required?  How much clearance is required between the cowl and the exhaust?

The two tabbed slip rings which lock the exhaust stacks in place
are secured using bolts to clamp the rings around the pipe.  Should these
bolts use lock nuts or castle nuts?

I noticed that if one is not carefull, you could position the
inboard exhaust stack so that the nose gear door will strike the exhaust
upon closure.  Thankfully, I caught this during trial fittings.
