I suspect that the temperature probe is a simple thermocouple -- they either work or they don't. Inaccuracies would come from the amplifier in your electronics box rather than the probe itself. Switching the probes wouldn't necessarily tell you if the 30 degree offset is real or artificial unless you switch the amplifier channels as well. In other words, when you want to change probes to see if the problem is real or an artifact of the probe, don't just unplug the wires and swap probes. Swap the wires, too. So you'll have the old #3 probe and wire on #1, and the old #1 probe and wire on #3. Your display will be wrong -- what's listed as #1 will actually be #3, and vice versa. If the 30 degree offset migrates to the other cylinder, your problem is solved. Rather, you have a new problem -- which one is right? (This could probably be addressed by putting the probes in boiling water and reading which one said it was 212 F) - Rob Wolf >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html LML Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please send your photos and drawings to marvkaye@olsusa.com. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
