Hello All,
The airfield is CYBW Springbank just west of the Calgary city limits in
Alberta Canada. We are very lucky to be located just east of the Rocky Mountains
and have some spectacular landscape to fly over.
The aircraft is powered by a TNIO-360 and the avionics are by Advanced
Flight Systems with a VP100 taking care of the electrical duties. So far
everything is working great and our test pilot is having a blast with it.
In the interest of canopy safety I have added two limit switches (one on
the latch handle and one on the canopy itself) that run in series powering the
large red light on the upper left side of the panel. There is also a canopy
unsafe warning that comes up on the EFIS screen. The canopy seal pump is also
defeated by the unsafe condition and will not run if the canopy is unlatched.
The large amber light next to the red canopy unsafe light is a canopy seal pump
running light that lets us know when the canopy seal is running. There is also
an audible warning that triggers at 1500 RPM if the canopy is not latched.
Trying to do everything I can to remind the pilot and keep everyone safe.
Cheers,
Shane Daly

Well
done!
Lovely looking airfield, where is it?
Our
new Legacy FG made its maiden flight this week with great success! We are
progressing slowly up through the performance envelope, but so far the plane
flys straight and true with no surprises.
Here
is a link to a video of the first take-off on our Facebook page.
