I think that statement is wrong.   Josh at Lancair indicated that Legacy aircraft with the retractable steps can come undone in turbulence.  I have a mechanical pin to prevent the lever from raising.   We do not know the exact issue on how these all opened and whether it was unlatched on the ground or became unlatched in the air or if the over-center is wrong or someone tripped the bar with their sleeve.   Lots of things can occur.    Assuming that a push before takeoff is a solution masks other possibilities.  Exploring the issue is smart.   I also subscribe to NTSB reports without concern for the marketplace.  Whether another dude buys a Legacy isn't a concern for me.  In fact, a new builder might take that paper and install a better system than I have. 

I will probably do the light and switches bumph on mine and check the over-center positioning.  Thanks for the writeup.
