Thanks for the response Grayhawk. You got me thinking, and I realised that I probably won’t need the RH rudder pedals very often, so simply making them removable would work really well for me. I think I can visualise what you are describing and it should work really well.

Thanks again for your input.

Rob,

Making the adjustable rudder pedals removable is quite easy.

1. Use nut plates under the floor  to bolt the pedal assembly to the floor.

2. Use  normal locknuts or castle nuts on the engine side of the firewall for holding the cable eyelets or use openable  mountain climbing connectors to attach the cable loop end to the eyelet on the firewall.

3. Use turnbuckles to join the cables just aft of the pedals so that they can be taken apart. Do this any way as the turnbuckles allow for pedal position adjustments.

4. Use a short cable with similar connectors or weak springs (or both) to maintain the cable ends that run back to the Y's that finally connect to the rudder

Thus the pedals can be in for training and easily removed for flights with your wife.

A question for the L320/360 builders out there. I am currently working on the rudder pedal installation in my L360. I am using the original pedals supplied with the kit for the left side, and have purchased a set of adjustable pedals for the right. However, the intention when (?if) I get this thing flying, is for my wife and I to fly all over Australia. Given that she is not at all interested in the romance of flying, I would like to make the controls in the right side removable. That will be quite easy for the control stick, but not so for the rudder pedals.

Before I race off and try to re-invent the wheel, I am wondering whether anyone out there knows of a design for retractable rudder pedals. Preferable I would like them to include brake pedals and to be adjustable. It’s probably a tall order, but I thought I worth asking.

Thanks again, in anticipation.
