I sent the pump to Parker and asked for a detailed teardown and analysis. The report said that normal wear was noted and that it would have easily gone the full 1000 hours, and why did I pull it ??. Because of all those scary stories of them not going 500 hrs w/out failure. Heat is their worst enemy, and if a cooling shroud is installed it extends their life along with changing the filter regularly. Then I remembered that it was my $200 core !!!!
