Thats very good to know. > Does your $20,000 figure for a conventional panel include a HSI? Yes, I was figuring in an STEC panel mounted HSI. They can be had new for about $6500.00. I was also figuring all vacuum gyros, airspeed, and VSI. I was also taking into account deleting the vacuum pump, and accys, complete VM1000 system, UPS MX20 moving map, and doing all the wiring myself. The difference for all of these items are very close to $20,000.00 For the entire panel, you would still have to have a Turn coordinator, NAV/Comms, GPS, xpndr, autopilot, etc., and you would have to buy the engine sensors (which are about $400.00 from what I understand) from Sierra. I know some of you will be saying, that you can't compare a vacuum gyro to the AHRS system, and I'm not. I'm just saying it will cost me about $20,000 more to go with the high end LCD system, over a more conventional system. Not that bad when you consider how much more you are getting for you $$, although that would sure buy alot of gas.
