Can I use diodes to isolate one line from the other; will that work, or is it even necessary? Thanks for the help.< Generally, with the newer audio amps, you can piggy back one on top of the other. In my Lancair I don't even have an audio selector panel but I did make a switch panel. With all the audio buttons pushed in, the COM, DME, VOR, AOA, Annunciator, entertainment, and AUX amplifier outputs are all tied together. And it works just great. These newer amps have have the audio selector panel folks sweating a bit. All an audio selector panel does is filters one audio device from another by cutting the gain from each down, mixes the audio signals, then re-amplifies the mixed signal. In short the answer is yes and you do not want diodes. The disclaimer statement follows: Of course, you may find one goofy audio amp that is not compatable with the norm in which case you do run the risk of blowing something expensive up. If it starts to buzz and smell funny, turn it off.
