However, make sure you visit their web site (http://www.sierraflightsystems.com/) and review the Q&A and the price list for the SFS 2000 with attitude [indicator]! It appears SFS contains no certified components, therefore, flight in instrument conditions would require that a full complement of certified instrumentation be installed. Perhaps SFS would be fed from an approach certified, panel mounted GPS and Nav radios. Their claims that military quality electronic gyros are very expensive and this contributes to the high cost of adding an attitude display are probably true. Let's remember that Crossbow (http://www.xbow.com/html/product.htm) is in the process of certifying their 9-axis electronic gyro (DMU-AHRS) and will OEM it at a relatively low cost. Meggit/S-Tec and Sigma-Tek are going to use these in their displays. Keep you eyes open and make your avionics suite decision at the latest possible moment. Always review available equipment for suitability and economic sense. Garmin and UPS are in good competition with one another and have been very innovative in the last few years. Both Garmin (http://www.garmin.com/products/gns530/) and UPS (http://www.upsat.com/mx20des.html) provide a great deal of information about their 530 and MX20 devices, respectively. Garmin also provides a free downloadable 500 series simulator. Check these out!
