Properly rigged ailerons have a slight float or dead band partially available from lash in the linkage. If so, the airplane may experience slight lateral imbalance that a sensitive AP may pick up and try to correct. Holding the stick reduces the dead band movement. So .... One might try an experiment - Rig the ailerons ever so slightly up (say a half or full turn in on the final aileron linkage rod end on each side). This may result in a very slight air load on each aileron in level flight thus elimination of oscillation in the dead band? This also results in the up aileron going up more before the down aileron is, uh, going down. Like I said, for what it's worth, Grayhawk In a message dated 7/15/2013 9:30:34 A.M.
