Harper,

You can buy a forward facing cold air intake and sump from AERO . You can also get a y shaped tube with a shutter for either ram or filtered air from Air flow performance. The down side is you will have to modified the cowl air scoop  and build a custom exhaust. The upside is more power and better looking cowl.

Chris,

This looks like something that might work.  I have a milling machine and a lathe and could easily turn and mill those pieces.  Do you know if there are any drawings wandering around.  Thanks.

Harper,
Here is another one.  The difficulty with any forward facing injector is the limited space available forward of the injector.  Using a 90 or 90+ deg elbow such as Johannes has is quite popular.  The cowl scoop is much deeper in that case and from the outside will look more like a carbureted installation.
The attached photos are of a set-up using a K&N conical filter inside of a fiberglass diffuser (not yet trimmed in the photo).  Alternate air is provided by rotating a ring at the aft end which causes the slots to open up.
There is a lot of variety out there in IO induction systems.

Harper,

i have a Lancair 320  with an IO-320D1B and a 90° forward swapped injector. I have not Chrisīs cowling. In addition I use a small air filter box with bypass.
However I have to say my engine does not run very smooth in idle rpm. I  canīt tell this is caused by 90° injector design.
However the cowling looks nice J

How have others handled the intake for a forward mounted  fuel injection on a 320 with Chris Zavatson's cowl?  Do most people run a straight pipe from the cowl to the injector body (w/ a flexible component) , pipe with a screen or a very small filter housing?
