Ed,
I really enjoy the fix pitch prop on my 320. Takes a little longer to
get off of the runway than my buddies, but in cruise, if I want to pull back for
slower flight, say 140 to 160 MPH, the engine RPM is way down, so it
is a nice quiet ride. Also, approach to pattern and landing
pattern is nice and quiet with the engine pulled back to 1800 RPM.
My next prop will be a 2 blade Catto, as the current stick is too short and
not enough pitch with this current engine. I'm getting 2550 RPM on takeoff
and can turn 3000 at full throttle.

Ed,
You meet the Hammers Brothers at Sun-n -fun this year. They say the top
speeds they achieve are all from fixed pitched props. They have
recommend
Catto prop but not the 3 blade. You will suffer big time on take off
though when you try to take-off in Aspen if it is hot and will not be the
rocket on take off you were use to with the MT.

[LML] 360 prop
What is the
best prop for a 360 for max cruise speed? Presently have a MT12 3 blade
cs, but considering a fixed pitch 2 blade or a 3 blade Catto. Plane
takes off like a rocket, so I don’t really need takeoff pitch. Almost
all use is long distance travel. Engine is Superior IO360, 180 hp.
All opinions welcome and needed. Ed
