Our O360A1A powered RV6 always ran cool even with a hot engine on a hot day doing max climb takeoffs. I don’t think I ever saw over 350 degree CHT’s. This is typical of RV’s. The cowl inlets are similar except Van uses a upper ramp on the top cowl. The oil cooler was located behind the left rear cylinder and I used a plate to block 2/3 of the oil cooler fins in cool weather to keep the oil temp up. A careful study of the difference between Lancair 3 series and RV upper and lower cowl design could be very productive.
