You need to get the original or a copy of the original which was retained by the DAR or FAA regional person that signed off the airplane. The "legal controlling authority" should be identified on the airworthiness certificate and/or in the log book signoff. Contact them for a copy. The Limitations document is a part of the Experimental - Amateur Built airworthiness certificate and was issued to the builder when the airplane was inspected. If not, the airplane was never airworthy and is un-insurable.
