Gentlemen,
I purchased a Lancair 200 from the builder. There is supposed to be a
Limitation document attached to the Airworthness Certificate. The builder
said he never prepared nor has any knowledge of a Limitations document.
I had an A&P install an Ivoprop on the aircraft. This constitutes a "major
alteration". The FAA person now requires that along with a copy of the
engine log (I have all ready submitted), that I now submit the Limitation
document. Upon receipt of the Limitations, the FAA requires I fly-off five
hours in a fifty-mile box. I can then sign off in the log the aircraft met
all the of the specifications stated in the Limitations document and send a
copy to the FAA. The aircraft will then be legal.
I would appreciate it if someone would give me a proforma of a Limitations
document for a 235, 320 or 360. I can modify the proforma to meet the
characteristics of the 200. Someone's help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan Wirth
