My IV-P has about 100 hours TT so it's a little early to make any statements
about long term damage; however, I did notice some discoloration on the
inside of the lower cowling on each side where the exhaust plumbing comes
close to the cowling (I have the old style carbon fiber cowling).  I got
some insulating blanket from Aircraft Spruce and attached it to the
discolored areas with high temp silicone sealer.  It's been there for about
50 hours and seems to be satisfactory.
