Dear Rob,  On our -320 we experienced some 'scorching' in the area that the
exhaust tubes came in close proximity of the cowling.  After much
discussion, we had a ceramic coating on the whole exhaust tubing and the
'scorching' has been almost eliminated.  Wrapping aluminium tape around the
exhaust will only bring the tube closer to the cowling - the heat
transferrence of the tape is wonderful!!  Cheers,  Simon Creasy.
