We found that stainless steel mesh works well (though we are not building a
IV) and is easy to obtain, just buy a large strainer from the kitchen
department of your supermarket, the type with stainless steel mesh.  Form it
around a block the shape of your inlet add one bid to the edges and flox in
place.
