I did a lap around the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico last winter. Stopped in Martinque and Grenada during the trip.  Had a great time.  Did not encounter any flying problems except a little IFR.  Be sure to take a lot of money and make sure your insurance policy covers the West Indies.
