I am happy to hear of Carl's success with the new door.  I saw it at Oshkosh
and it looked great!

I took the long route (no choice) and finished the door after two months.

One of the problems that still plagues me is the bulge near the aft hinge.
My 90 lb strut is positioned perpendicular to the door hinge axis.  The 90
lb strut puts a significant force upward creating a bulge near the aft
hinge.  Sure, it goes away once the door is cranked into position, but it
requires a lot of cranking pressure to pull the door down.  The fast build
door has a  60lb strut, and a new position.  The fuselage attach point is
near the hinge and the door attach point is near the middle latch.  Although
this does not appear an ideal placement from an engineering standpoint, I am
interested in feedback regarding the operation of the 60 lb strut and the
new position.  Maybe I should consider going to the 60lb strut and moving
it.

Carl, why did you have to move your strut and are you happy with its
operation?  Bulging?

Green with envy,
