The 500lb difference I claimed is an obvious goof that I should have noticed, and it would appear the other misleading comment had to do with a misunderstanding of Jim Rahm's claim of 2nd place. (2nd in class vs. 2nd overall). It is interesting to note how these misunderstandings can happen very easily when you compare the quote of Mr. Zehrbach below in which it reads as if the QVenture turned in a much faster time than Rahm's and was just a bit behind the winner. The actual difference between first place overall and second (as listed below) is 29 seconds and between 2nd and third is only 9 seconds. I don't need to be an apologist for Jim Rahm, but It still seems lilke a close race to me. >I am confused... >1. Darus Zehrbach states that "Lee Behel's normally aspirated QVenture with >the Continental blew off Jim Rahm's turbocharged Engine Air V8 and finished >just behind Orion Riddel in the factory Lancair IV" >2. Then I check John Barrett's update (link from his post) which states >"[Rahm's] airplane is almost 500 pounds heavier with the pressurization >package, so I believe second place by a close margin is a darn good >accomplishment" >"Because of weather the race leg from Kitty Hawk to Dayton was cancelled and >the race run from Dayton to Oshkosh. The speeds and times were as follows: >1 hr. 18 min. 38 sec 319 mph for Orion >1 hr 19 min 7 sec 315 mph for the Behel Questaire >1 hr 19 min 16 sec 314 mph for the Engineaire V8" >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html LML Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please send your photos and drawings to marvkaye@olsusa.com. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
