Several interesting items in the "Designee Update" I received today.

Questions have come up regarding the use of experimental aircraft during
practical tests.   The FAA has clarified  for an examiner to conduct a test
in an experimental he/she must first be willing, be rated in the aircraft,
comply with Part 61, and  the aircraft must be capable of performing all
the tasks required for the test.

Question have come up regarding dual brakes.
The FAA has clarified that brakes are not part of the "dual controls"
definition thus are not required for flight instruction and examination.
If a task requires the use of brakes the examiner can switch places or the
applicant may ask the examiner to apply and release  the brakes as
required.

Answers some of my questions.
