Lancariens,

I own a Rocky Mountain Instruments uEncoder that is installed in my = Lancair
360.

On any typical flight I set the baro on the unit and within a minute or = so
it starts flashing and I believe the result is unreliable information = being
sent to the transponder.  See the attached video [see note = below <m>].  Another anomaly is that
during straight and level flight the VSI segment will indicate a = wild
fluctuation showing a greater-than 1000 FPM climb or descent.

Several months ago I took the unit out and performed a few procedures = that
were recommended by RMI such as cutting the leads of the components on = the
circuit board flush wth the board in the display, etc.  This = did not resolve
the problem.  I now would be interested in having someone = qualified take the
unit and fix it, maybe at RMI.  Then I discover that Rocky = Mountain
Instruments is no longer in business and I am pretty sure they = won't/can't
help me.

Is this there anyone in the Lancair world that can point me in a = direction
that we can get this resolved, either by fixing or replacing the = unit.

If the microEncoder is not serviceable, can someone point me in the
direction of a viable, drop-in replacement unit - either another RMI
uEncoder or somthing else?
