Today was weight and balance day for the IV. We didn’t come out quite a light as I had hoped, but not too bad. We’ve also done everything we could to move the empty CG forward. All 3 batteries are on the forward face of the firewall. We have a 13.5 gallon header tank between the right side of the instrument panel and the firewall and we moved the engine forward 1 inch. These are the numbers for the normal 4 place configuration:

Empty weight:  1,944.5 lbs   CG: 87.15”
Fuel capacity: 130.5 gallons

We’ve also built the airplane to be easily convertible to a two place configuration with 186 gallons and a single place “expedition” configuration with 399 gallons. I know that most of us have used higher gross weights than the factory number. I’d be interested to learn what you guys have used. Thanks.
