I'm also running a grounding strap along the aft side of the wings, connecting as many surface metallic objects (mainly hinges) as possible. The goal is to put wicks at points where static charge will accumulate to hopefully dissipate it. I'm under no delusion that this is a perfect solution. Does it help at all? Don't know - ask in 2 years or so when (hopefully) I'm flying.
