Gary,
My 2 cents is fly it in primer. You will be removing the
cowling, inspection panels and probably other pieces and parts MANY
time during your test flying. Better to scratch up the primer rather
than you pretty new paint. I flew mine for 7 months before paint.
I used the WLS primer applied with a sponge roller. When I called the
manufacturer they said their is not degradation of the primer as long as you
don't sand it before flying. Leave it just the way it is after you
roller it on.
I have no knowledge of how other primers would hold up.
Also, I appreciate Earls point about never getting it done. I've been
flying mine for 4 years and still don't have the interior.

Subject: Paint before or after test
flying
G'Day All,
I would like to hear from anyone regarding the Pros and Cons of painting
before the Test Flying or doing the test flying with the aircraft in
primer.
What did you do?
I have always believed that I would paint before test flying but there
are many arguments as to why you could fly in primer only.
Many Thanks
