If you plan to fly IMC without a spinning mass backup OR a certified EFIS then you are "Dead Man Flying". I have destroyed too much equipment during per-qualification testing of certified equipment and have done too many post crash analysis for the NTSB to have any other opinion. If you plan to fly IMC without a spinning mass backup OR a certified EFIS then you are "Dead Man Flying".
