On my ES, I used 2 BID forward of the panel and 3 BID on the overhang.  I have about a 4" overhang.  Of course my glareshield is bigger than what you have on the 360.  It's important to keep the edge of the overhang perfectly straight or it'll look bad.  I covered mine with 1/4" of foam that wrapped around the edge to create some thickness and pad that sharp edge (like Bob recommended).  Stopping the foam that's on the bottom short of reaching the panel leaves a nice pocket for any panel lighting to be recessed.  The padding and the upholstery adds quite a bit of stiffness to the finished glareshield.  Make sure you use e-glass if you have your GPS antenna under the glareshield!

Hi colleagues,

I am trying to make my own dust cover and thinking what is the best way to build it. Having a strong paper as a basic form over the panel works fine for the first 3 layer of glass. Another 3 layer of glass and honeycomb between it - does that work?

Is that the way to go or just buy it from Lancair (isnīt it boring for builders - beside the fact it wiil not fit in my case)

Any ideas welcome.

Thanks in advance

Peter
