I am building a L-IVP with Bob Nuckolls' Z-4 electrical system (dual bus, dual alternator, dual battery with crossfeed.) My instrumentation will include his loadmeter, Jim Frantz' annunciator panel, and for the primary flight data, the Sierra Flight Systems EFIS 200 and nav from Garmin 430. My question is simple. Other than the basic pitot-static instruments (airspeed/altimeter/VSI) is there any other backup instrumentation that I should consider? Should I ditch even those backups? Comments please.
