Hi Berni,
I am not flying as yet but will be using Carbon Fiber instrument panels in my Legacy.
Have a look at a very simple blog that is not updated often enough and was started a while back by my wife.

I am looking for feedback on the idea of using carbon fiber flat panels for the left and right sides of my instrument panel. I am installing a dual G3X system on the pilot side of the airplane and backup instruments on the co-pilot side. The center will be the audio panel, Garmin 530, Garmin SL40 and Garmin 330 Transponder. I am considering putting carbon fiber panels on the pilot and co-pilot sides and painting the center silver or covering it with silver colored leather.
Please let me know if you have any pro or con feelings on the carbon fiber idea.
