No, the muffs on the internet are worse for noise. The ones we bought have a plastic shell and some foam but when I tried them on my head the noise was like an echo chamber. It appeared to provide zero benefit. Our preferred solution for now is some loose cotton and a bandana around the head covering the ears to muffle the sound. You may need to train for this prior to flight with treats until the mutt is comfortable with the setup. My two mutts have been in the Legacy Florida to Calgary and Dallas to Calgary this summer. Other than the heat and ridiculous look they seemed to enjoy it. I would entertain some expanding foam earplugs next but would talk to my vet first to make sure I can put those in without any problems. You could also dampen the carry box as an alternative with some 3M acoustic foam. Perhaps there are better solutions than the muffs we bought.
