I remember thinking that a simple three bid lay-up from the front of the spar running aft over the edge of the seat-pan could be a candidate for peeling away and letting the seat-pan slide forward since the peel strength of a simple lap type lay-up is pretty low. Ergo, I opted to lay two bid from the front and two bid from the aft direction coming together at the front edge of the seat-pan, then folding the resulting four bid back over the seat-pan edge for about 3/8 inch. I had previously applied good ol' duct tape to the front edge of the pan (lapped around top and bottom to provide release and clearance). When cured, even my 210 lb partner couldn't apply enough force on the seat to make things come loose. A simple clip from the front of the spar hooking into the stick hole in the seat-pan keeps things from slipping aft.
