Ron,
The bleeder port is always on the bottom of your brake caliper. When using
a one man brake bleeder you inject fresh Mil-H-5606 hydraulic fluid from the
bottom of the caliper under pressure and mop up the excess at the brake
master cylinder. If you are sharp you'll have a rag or a line with a bottle
to capture the overflow. If not, just mop up the mess. Brake bleeding is a
fine art and not too much fun, either. Piper products with five master
cylinders are the worst.
To make a one man bleeder just get a nice new oil squirt can and fill it
with red hyd. fluid. Put a small diameter clear plastic tube on the tip and
connect it to the bleeder port. Using a 1/4" ignition wrench, open the port
and pump away. A helper can yell to you when the master cylinder overflows.
Close the bleeder port and test the brake. If it is firm all is well. If
not, start over; you still have air in there. The air bubbles will float
upwards and if the line takes a downward turn you just have to pump faster.
You can pump faster than the bubbles will float upwards... except in a
Piper! Good luck!
