I don't have a "standard gear" to look at, but with the outback gear option the flap drive and motor system is completely different. I remember well putting that damn torque tube into the plane and wishing just one of the instuction manual referenced the outback flaps and not the standard ones :-) The weldments might be bigger too, but I'm not really sure about that. Clearly the flap system is different with outback gear along with the wheels themselves.
