I find checklists essential. I use a plastic sleeve to put them in and use a paper hole punch to put them on a ring. Just seems to be an easy way for me. I've attached a photo of a checklist attached to a knee board. I've also attached the current version of the checklist (for a Lancair IV-P). This checklist is VERY refined to; a) the aircraft and b) the way I do things. It requires multiple versions to get it right. I can make a change, reprint the affected pages, insert into the sleeve, punch and I'm ready to go. I also put my power gouge, essential speeds, weight and balance and emergency procedures into similar "packets."
