Take the course so you can understand your engine (and engine monitor) better. The fuel savings is only one small side benefit. There is MUCH more to the course than just LOP operations. I've been fascinated with engines all my life and thought I knew quite a lot about them.... until I took the APS course. It was very enlightening.
