Jay,

I used leading edge tape and because I have red trim, I put an automobile red pin stripe from NAPA over the gap. The gap can not be seen I have attached a photo.

I also used fiberglass tape on the flap to stop rubbing. The fiberglass tape is brown to start but in the sun, it turns white in about one month. You can see on my flap the top 1/2 inch of the tape is brown where it is hidden from the sun when the flaps are up. The bottom 1/2 inch is pure white where the sun shines. The tape role is shown with it's AC part number.
