I don't know if you remember, when we were sitting in a restaurant having lunch you said that your heritage was Czech. I also said that was mine and that my grandparents name was Laznicka!!! I am in Carmel, California now. My plane, the "Pink Panther" is in Oregon completing a repair from a gear up incident. - hydraulic pump did not work and I should have caught it. I used John "Fred" Hadlich to make the repairs and be the responsible person coordinating with the insurance company. He also coordinated work with Dan Ballin (who is building a plane like mine) to do a lot of the avionics work. John's work looks outstanding to me and my plane is a safer, better plane than it was when it took it's first flight. Fred also repaired an aft window door for me on a previous occasion and improved on the repair (we were short on time at first) during the current repair. I think John was very conscience about keeping me informed of the status of the repair and tried to be fair with me regarding any costs not associated with the incident. He also was meticulous about keeping records and explaining to me what work he had done. I especially appreciated his taking the time at the end of the repair to sit down with me and review the completed repairs and give me a complete copy of all the paper work. If I had to do it again (which I hope I don't), I would pick Fred as my guy. By the way if you need any avionics work Jon Hadlich, Fred's dad is an expert and wired my plane for me.
