It is true that Blue
Mountain has ceased
operations, but some customers have been able to get their boxes repaired,
although support is spotty at best. There is still a community of BMA owners
out there (myself included) who are trying to extend the life of their avionics.
This has created an active market for used BMA products. If you are upgrading
your panel please put your old equipment up for sale. The Blue Mountain
discussion board http://bluemountainavionics.com/talk/index.php
is a good place, or the usual outlets like http://barnstormers.com
and Ebay.
You may have heard that Jeppesen stopped providing raw data to
manufacturers. As a result you can no longer get current navdata files from Blue Mountain.
In an effort to extend the usable life of the BMA products, we recently developed
a new source for navdata updates: http://bluemountainavionicsdata.com/.
It uses FAA data and is compatible with Gen3 and Gen4 equipment.

Skyview Users
Yeh - I guess it does. They have been out
of business for over ttwo years and ceased any support as of that time.

I don't have a Dynon Skyview
in my panel but am considering replacing my Blue Mountain Efis 1 with one. Your
comments on the performance (pro and con) of the Skyview unit would be of
interest. Is it possible to post these to the open forum?
