I believe this aircraft is more than capable of handling these higher weights and will fly mine (once finished) at around 2550lbs (1160kg). I have the TCM IO-550N so my aircraft is not a super Legacy but will still have performance to spare at those weights. I have written to Lancair engineering, technical and support staff three times now regarding the ridiculously low MZFW (1900lbs) and MTOW (2200lbs) as shown in the Pilot Operating Handbook to ask how they determined this MZFW and if there was a handbook amendment available to up the weights. Even the company demonstrator N199L which I flew at Oshkosh before purchasing a partly completed project was operating at 2400lb MTOW or that is what I was told. I think it was Kim who replied that she couldn't help with my questions but engineering would. I get the feeling there is no engineering or technical staff remaining at the factory and have still not had a response from them.
