I'm not sure I understand:  The angle to right built into most planes is to reduce the amount of right rudder required on takeoff.  So  why would you want to REDUCE the angle to the right?  Most (or at least many) planes have the engine tilted down and to the right - the down angle is to reduce the elevator trim requirement (nose-up pitch on power application) and the angle to the right is for rudder trim.  One problem, and one that I found with my ES mount, is that Lancair turned the engine to the right, but the rear of the engine was approximately on the centerline.  That put the front of the engine to the right of the centerline, adding a left-turning tendency, the opposite of what is desired.  Regardless, I would suggest that you want more angle on the engine, not less, and I don't think you want to angle the engine up any more than it is.  Having the engine nose-down is probably desired, but that's another discussion.  Sometimes the left-turning tendency is caused by an incorrect angle of incidence of the vertical fin, but of course that is a hard thing to modify.  I think with an engine that big on your 360 you are stuck with that magnitude of rudder requirement on takeoff.

I have a 360 with an angle valve motor. XP-400SRE  250 hours on this engine now.  I would like to eliminate the amount of rudder required to keep the plane square. (ball in the cage)  I have good reason to suspect the engine has been installed with too much yaw.

I have the engine level to the airframe in pitch.  The manual calls for 1.5 degrees to the right in regards to yaw. (if I remember correctly)  I assume this was built in to the engine mount.

In order for me to get the engine level at 0, and straight in yaw, it would take about a half inch of washers on lower right rubber engine mount, and one quarter inch of washers on the upper right mount.

Is this normal?
