I learned late this afternoon that there was a Lancair 360 crash at Chesapeake Regional Airport in Chesapeake, VA:  http://hamptonroads.com/2011/04/two-killed-plane-crash-chesapeake-airport-identified

Report from a first-hand witness was that the airplane was taking off on Rwy23 and had just retracted the gear when the engine began missing very badly at about 400 feet.  It was the classic turn back to the airport, stall, spin accident.  Report was that the pilot never pushed the nose over.  As a result, there are two people dead and another destroyed airplane.
