Only one runway was open, on the opposite side of the field from CBP, resulting in a taxi of nearly 3 miles. When I asked for a very high speed taxi clearance, the controller laughed and replied "ahhh, the field is all clear, speed at your discretion". Those taxiways are huge, so I was in ground effect for 80% of the trip, just touching down to make the turns ;-) Won't be able to do that anymore when the ES is done.
