After only 300 hours, my sensor just fell out one day. The bonding material did not hold. To replace it through Continental was around a grand and required the removal of the mag. The call to Continental was to just satisfy my curiosity, since I use the Grand Rapids EIS for tach. The EIS does not use the sensor (uses p-lead). I have attached a wiring diagram. It insures that you don't lose you tach reading during a mag check.

Subject: [LML] RPM Sensing on TSIO-550w/Slick magnetos on a LIV-P
I am in the final stages of wiring the aircraft. On the Slick Mag's, there is a lower bung that can be removed to install a Westach 303D2HT sensor. It is almost impossible to reach and remove the bung to remove and install the sensor without removing the mag. I remember so discussion about sensing the RPM from the "P" Lead.. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The electrical system is 12 volts.
