They need a module that does some converting to get the proper signal. They were also used in a Blue Mountain EFIS (now defunct) with the same modules and were very accurate. When we calibrated these probes in our ES a couple of weeks ago, we has less than a gallon difference between the probe and actual. The delta was on the actual side so they are a tad conservative. It is my understanding that these probes are the same as the ones sold by EI. The only alleged difference is that the sending/computational circuit is external on the EI probes and internal on the VM's. External would be far better if one of the units went bad. You wouldn't have to remove a wing to get the probe out. I certainly would talk to the techies for any company before buying into their EFIS system.
