Gents: I don't work for ForeFlight or Apple, but I was an early user of the iPad/ForeFlight
combination (started on my iPhone). I was especially happy when the ForeFlight application was upgraded to provide moving map
functionality. I had buyers blues a little when some of you went out and bought Windows based HP Slates and other devices
to run Seattle Avionics Software, especially as it provided geo-referenced positioning on approach plates and airport
diagrams. Apparently, ForeFlight and Seattle Avionics have now teamed up and ForeFlight is using Seattle Avionics'
geo-referencing capabilities via a licensing agreement. Disclaimer: I haven't used it and can't guarantee that it
works. But I did buy a GNS 5870 MFI GPS Receiver to enhance the capabilities of my iPad 3G ($99 and free shipping from Amazon), and
I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night. The ForeFlight Pro annual subscription that allows approach plate
geo-referencing costs $149.99 per year rather than the normal $74.99. I'll let you know how it works after I try
it! John Hafen IVP N413AJ 300 hours
