I had wondered where the term "dimensional weight" came from -- now I know. Maybe our airplanes would be cheaper if we built them out of steel! (no, wait...) I guess the only way around this is to combine Hazmat orders with other local builders, find local sources for the Hazmat, or plan ahead so you rarely have to mail order the stuff. None of these are particularly attractive options. As for Lancair's portion of the shipping charges, Vern tells me that they charge a flat $5 for boxing up our stuff and the rest goes to the shipper. If that sounds high, go to an office supply store and price a cardboard box full of packing peanuts. Or move four times since buying your kit (as I have) and see how much gets paid for each carton. $5 is a pretty good deal. As for Joost, once again I am amazed at how good we have it in this country. Our government may be unfriendly at times to personal aviation -- but not compared to the other governments out there. I was in Holland last year for vacation. A beautiful place. I didn't notice it at the time, but I didn't see any small airplanes flying. I thought that was because it was during the week, but now I know better. - Rob Wolf >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html LML Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please send your photos and drawings to marvkaye@olsusa.com. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
